Waistline includes a comprehensive userguide.
Waistline is licensed under the GPLv3. The full license file is in the www sub-folder and the license notice is placed at the top of every source file. The folders outside of the www directory are generated by the Cordova framework and contain their own (GPL compatible) license files.
Waistline only requires the availability of an internet connection when the barcode of a product is scanned, when searching for a product, or when uploading a product to the Open Food Facts database. During a scan or a search the only information sent to Open Food Facts is the product barcode or the search terms entered. When uploading a product a unique install ID is sent along with the product information. This is to assist the maintainers of the Open Food Facts database in spotting mistakes or abuse of their systems.
For the software to function efficiently camera and storage permissions are required. These are needed to be able to scan barcodes, upload product images, and to import and export data.
No personal data is collected while utilizing the software
Usage data is collected only when interacting with the Open Food Facts database. Data and information collected when using this software is used for efficient and improved utilization of the software
The security of your data is important but no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, therefore the developer doesn't guarantee its absolute security.
Waistline requires a third-party database (Open Food Facts) to facilitate some of its functionality.
Waistline is developed in good faith and for general use. The developer will not be held accountable for how you decide to use this software and will not be liable for any losses and/or damages in connection with the use of the software.
